Mentorship and Supporting Emerging Artists
I am currently working as a mentor at Clifton Park Museum, where I was selected to support their Young Artist in Residence programme from 2025 to 2026. This role allows me to work closely with an emerging artist, helping them develop their creative practice, build professional confidence and explore how art can communicate ideas about identity.
The project goes beyond exhibition making. Alongside curating and co-creating an exhibition centred on the theme of identity, the mentorship includes delivering community workshops and creative sessions with young people. Mentorship is something I am deeply passionate about. I believe that artistic development is not only about technical skill, but about confidence, professional guidance and emotional support within the creative journey. Helping another artist begin their professional path is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
Through this experience, I aim to help emerging artists understand how to develop their voice, present their work, engage with audiences and begin building a sustainable creative career.
Future Mentoring Opportunities:
I am also open to mentoring other artists who are at the early stages of their practice and are looking for guidance as they move towards working professionally.
My mentoring approach focuses on:
• Developing artistic confidence and creative voice
• Supporting portfolio development and exhibition preparation
• Understanding opportunities within community, heritage and gallery settings
• Guidance on building audiences and professional presence
• Advice on delivering workshops and creative projects
Mentoring is always tailored to the individual artist’s goals and stage of development. My aim is to help artists feel supported, informed and empowered as they take their first steps into the professional art world.
