Rebecca Ellen Wright is a contemporary artist based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, creating expressive, emotionally driven paintings that explore identity, resilience, connection and the human experience through the natural world.
Known for her distinctive wildlife portraiture, Rebecca combines intricate detail with powerful storytelling, using animals as symbols of strength, wisdom, balance, tranquillity and personal growth. Her work seeks to create meaningful emotional connections, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences, strengths and journey through life.
Alongside her studio practice, Rebecca is passionate about making art accessible to others and using creativity to support wellbeing, confidence and self-expression. She delivers workshops across South Yorkshire and is committed to nurturing emerging talent within her local community. Through her mentoring work with Clifton Park Museum, she supports young artists in developing confidence, artistic skills and their own creative voice through exhibition projects exploring identity and self-expression.
Rebecca's work has been recognised through a number of community and heritage projects. She was commissioned by Doncaster Council as part of the Changing the Record research project, creating artwork that contributed to the exploration and celebration of local history and community stories. She was also commissioned to paint a portrait of Lieutenant Sam Derry, producing a meaningful piece that honours personal service, achievement and legacy.
Her original paintings and commissioned artworks are held in private collections throughout the UK and internationally. Rebecca works closely with clients to create bespoke pieces that celebrate personal stories, loved ones, significant milestones and meaningful connections, resulting in artwork that can be treasured for generations.

Snowman Sculpture Trail Doncaster Council - Wild in Art In October 2025, Rebecca was commissioned by Wild in Art to paint The Snowman Sculpture - ‘Six Geese a-Laying’. This was part of 12 beautifully crafted, interactive sculptures around Doncaster City Center, each inspired by the beloved character from Raymond Briggs’ classic tale.
